Meet Sherman.
Sherman is a financial innovator. He has spent his career helping to grow the economy in New Mexico and is a leader who has been instrumental in developing an ecosystem of business development resources.
In the early ‘70s, he brought large-scale credit card processing for over 300 banks to the state. Then he was involved in forming ATM Plus System Inc., introducing ATMs to New Mexico, and expanding the network across the US and to Asia. In the ‘80s, he used his financial services background to become the CEO of Sunwest Credit Services Corporation, where he was an innovator in commercial paper purchasing and leasing.
In the ‘90s, Sherman used his expertise in finance to lead Technology Ventures Corp., which mentored technology entrepreneurs. TVC was involved in over 100 business formations and 200 funding events totaling $1.2 billion in private equity and venture funding commitments. Before TVC was formed, there was virtually no venture capital presence in New Mexico.
Sherman has led local investors as well as regional and national venture capital entities to fund startup companies, bringing more funding capital to the state than any other individual. As the co-founder and CEO of Sandia Science & Technology Park Development Corporation, he continues to help grow New Mexico’s economy by recruiting high tech companies. He is also a co-founder of the New Mexico Angels and Kirtland Partnership Committee.
As a founding member of OneTen Capital, he has furthered his mission of funding innovative businesses and founders.
Beyond business, Sherman enjoys fast cars and supporting the community. Among his many projects, he is very involved in the Heart Gallery of New Mexico Foundation which helps foster children be adopted and provides aid to those who have aged out of the system.
